In the third year of Bunroku era (Year 1594), a long-established incense company,
Kungyokudo Co., Ltd., started out as a Nishi Honganji served apothecary
at the place where it's currently located, which is in front of Nishi Honganji in Kyoto. Since then,
Kungyokudo is the Japan's oldest incense supplier
which has been making the scent for the ceremonies or everyday life of each era.
While keeping the tradition as a long-established incense company in Kyoto,
with the natural-perfume-oriented blending skills cultivated
throughout the years of experience as a base, and as a total brand of scent,
we will keep proposing the new concept of the scent which will fit well in the present lifestyle.
